Our Invitation to the Holy of Holies
When Jesus breathed His last on the cross, something astonishing happened—the veil in the temple, which had symbolically separated the Holy of Holies, tore from top to bottom. This was more than a physical event; it was God’s invitation to come into an intimate relationship with Him.
Jesus embodied God’s desire for connection with us.
The veil had been a literal and symbolic barrier, separating the most sacred space from humanity. By tearing it, God made a bold statement—“I am open to you. You’re welcome to experience My presence directly.” This wasn’t just a symbolic gesture; it was the manifestation of His heart toward us, inviting us to step into the innermost space with Him.
Yet, for many of us, the tearing of the veil must also happen within. We often build up veils of our own, perceiving ourselves as unworthy of God’s presence. We feel we’re too flawed, too ‘human,’ for the holiness of God.
But just as the physical veil was torn from top to bottom, so too is the veil within us—God initiates, God acts, and God opens. All we are asked to do is respond to His invitation and let Him remove the reasons and excuses we use to stay at a distance.
This inner veil can only be removed when we’re willing to sit in His presence and allow His love and truth to penetrate our hearts. As we do, we come closer to the truth of His original design for us.
A life unburdened by shame, fear, and isolation.
God desires that we experience full freedom, but it requires letting Him tear down the walls we’ve built within. The more we open ourselves, the more we realize that the holy space isn’t just a place—it’s a relationship where He calls us His own.
