Jesus. Son of Man. Son of God.
Jesus was both the Creator - but had also become the Created;
He had declared the created things into being;
But He has also entered into the world of created things as a human being.
The Son of Man and the Son of God.
Jesus has stepped inside the Creation as both Creator and Creation.
As a result, He is the pinnacle of the Creation, and represents the whole of Creation, and has the authority to speak for the entire Creation. There is no one more qualified for such a position and place of honour. Any mere man with such position would surely use that power to assert dominance over the world and rule as an unopposed King and dictator for his own prosperity and gain.
But Jesus wasn’t just Son of Man. He was Son of God. The incarnate Word of God.
He is the perfect thoughts of God in human form.
Like Isaiah prophesied…(Is. 55)
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me without fruit,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Jesus was humankind’s perfect representative before the Father.
He has accomplished something as a Man and as God.
Jesus has declared something about who God is and also something about who humankind is. He has made a unified and perfect declaration that perfectly expresses God’s dream for His creation; a dream that He had always held and never given up on.
Jesus has settled forever humankind’s deep ache for assurance and belonging; our insatiable longing and thirst to finally, once and for all, know who we are and why we matter. Our true identity. Our true purpose for being.
Through the life of Jesus, we are able to see our existence beyond the natural, physical and temporal world. We can lift our eyes into the supernatural realm, from where we came from, and re-imagine ourselves as God designed us.
And therefore, find assurance, peace and joy.
